Houston Federal Credit Union Digital Wallets provide you with a secure and convenient way to make your everyday purchases. With every transaction your card’s primary account number is replaced through a tokenization process, which substitutes your sensitive account information with a randomly generated string of numbers to authorize your payment. This protects your accounts from potential fraudulent activity that could occur.
Simply link all your HFCU debit and/or credit card(s) information through the Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay application on your mobile device. Receive the same great rewards and benefits that come with your card(s), plus the security and convenience of a digital wallet.

How to use Apple Pay
Apple Pay can be used only on Apple devices. Here’s how to get started:
- Open the wallet app on your Apple device.
- Tap the “+” sign at the top right of the app screen.
- Scan a picture of your card, or add your credit or debit card information manually. Keep in mind that some financial institutions may ask that you verify your card before you can start using it.
- When making and in-store purchase, log in to your iPhone using your passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID, open the wallet app (or for a shortcut double-click the side button on your phone), select your card, and then hold the phone close to the card reader to complete the transaction.
How to use Google Pay
- Download and open the Google Pay app.
- Log in to your Google account.
- Select Add a Payment Method
- Scan a picture of your card, or add your credit or debit card information manually. Keep in mind that some financial institutions may ask that you verify your card before you can start using it.
- Enable NFC (or near field communication) by opening your phone’s settings, typing “NFC” in the search bar and tapping to enable. If you can’t find NFC, your phone cannot use Google Pay.
- When making an in-store purchase, unlock your phone, open the Google Pay app, select your card, and then hold it near the card reader to complete the transaction.
How to use Samsung Pay
You can use Samsung pay at point of sale terminals and in Samsung-owned apps, but you cannot use the mobile wallet to make direct purchases online or in other apps. Here’s how to get set up with Samsung Pay on your compatible phone or watch:
- Download and open the Samsung Pay app.
- Register your fingerprint, iris scan (select models only) or set up a PIN.
- Selects cards from the menu and then click on the add card icon in the bottom right corner.
- Scan a picture of your card, or add your credit or debit card information manually. Keep in mind that some financial institutions may ask that you verify your card before you can start using it.
- When making an in-store purchase, unlock your Samsung phone, select the Samsung Pay app (or for a shortcut swipe up on your Samsung phones home screen) to select the card you want to use, and then authenticate your identity with a fingerprint scan or password before holding your phone next to the card reader to complete the transaction.
